Process Scales

Process type belt scales are typically used in applications where high accuracy is not required. Typical applications include:

• The monitoring of plant performance
• Control of feed rates onto a conveyor
• Control of material feed into a process

The system is typically a single idler weigh frame. Depending on the application; accuracies in the order of ±1% to ±3% are typical. Please check the “Belt Scale Installation Guide” for ideal locations and conditions.

Depending on the application and material loading on the conveyor, we offer the following models:

WT1

The model “WT1’ is Web Tech AutoWeigh’s low cost “process” type conveyor belt scale.

Features

• Designed for easy of installation.
• Incorporates Two(2) qty “Shearbeam” load cells.
• Use existing idler, or opt for an inline weigh quality idler (easily attached with “v” type brackets.
• Belt widths from 450mm up to 1600mm
• Mild steel galvanised coating.
• Includes trailing arm speed sensor, electronics and associated junction boxes.(optional calibration equipment and weigh quality idlers)
• Accuracies in the order of ±2.0% to ±3.0% are achievable over an operation range of 25% to 120% of design capacity.

WTE1S2

The model “WTE1S2’ is one of Web Tech AutoWeigh’s “process” type conveyor belt scales specifically designed for applications with relatively low belt loadings, and is ideal for low bulk density materials such as woodchips.

Features

• Single idler, fully suspended, lightweight but extremely strong weigh frame.
• Four (4) internally mounted load cells, with the capacity selected to provide the best sensitivity for the application.
• Belt widths from 450mm up to 1200mm.
• Loadcell access covers for easy maintenance.
• Mild steel galvanised coating.(Optional Stainless steel).
• Accuracies in the order of ±1.0% are achievable over an operation range of 25% to 120% of design capacity.

Along with the weigh frame, the system is supplied with a speed sensor, Calibration equipment and Electronics. It is also advisable to replace the existing idlers with weigh quality idlers.

WTS1S2

The model “WTS1S2’ is one of Web Tech AutoWeigh’s “process” type conveyor belt scales specifically designed for heavy duty applications such as the mining industry.

Features

• Single idler, fully suspended, heavy duty weigh frame.
• Four (4) internally mounted load cells, with the capacity selected to provide the best sensitivity for the application.
• Belt widths from 450mm up to 2400mm.
• Loadcell access covers for easy maintenance.
• Mild steel galvanised coating.(Optional Stainless steel).
• Accuracies in the order of ±1.0% are achievable over an operation range of 25% to 120% of design capacity.

Web Tech AutoWeigh manufactures a complete range of conveyor belt scales for nearly all applications. Conveyor belt scale models, also known as belt scales, weightometers and belt weighers can basically be categorised into three categories, “process”, “inventory” and “precision type”.

Web Tech AutoWeigh manufacture systems for all categories, and usually more than one model. The model of conveyor belt scale required depends on the application requirements and the conveyor design.

Our “Belt Scale Installation Guide” will provide guidelines on belt scale installation requirements.

Process Conveyor Belt Scales

• Typically used in light to medium duty applications with belt loading up to 50kg/m.
• Single Idler weigh frame, mild steel Galvanised construction, Optional Stainless steel.
• Standard belt widths from 300mm up to 1050mm.
• Conveyor belt scale kit offered complete with, electronics, speed sensor and weigh quality idlers.
• Accuracies in the order of ±0.25% to ±0.5% are typical depending on the application and material type.

Inventory Conveyor Belt Scales

• Typically used were accuracies from “Process scales” is not achievable on processes such as the monitoring of material deposited onto a stockpile and monitoring of material deposited into trucks.
• Dual Idler mild steel galvanised construction, Optional Stainless steel.
• Standard models are available for 1000, 1200 and 1500 mm idler spacings. Other spacings are available as an option.
• Standard belt widths from 450mm up to 1200mm.
• Conveyor belt scale kit offered complete with, electronics, speed sensor and weigh quality idlers
• Accuracies in the order of ±0.5% to ±1% are typical depending on the application and material type.

Precision Scales

• Typically used in applications where very accurate results are required, such as shiploaders, train loading Custody transfer and wheat storage.
• Four, six and eight idler mild steel galvanised construction, optional stainless steel.
• Previously supplied up to 10 000 Mtph
• Standard belt widths up to 2400mm.
• Standard models are available for 1000, 1200 and 1500 mm idler spacings. Other spacings are available as an option.
• Accuracies in the order of ±0.25% are typical depending on the application material type and belt scale type

Special Applications

• Specifically designed to suit a certain application, based on standard technology.
• Applications such as mine structure conveyors, “sanki” type conveyors.
• Complete turnkey design and manufacture using the latest technology.
• Accuracies would depend on the application and material type.

Electronics

Web Tech AutoWeigh also designs and manufactures its own range of electronic integrators, controllers and speed sensors that can be used with all of our models of conveyor belt scales. Each of the models has different features and provides solutions to the application requirements.

The standard models for most applications are our” Masterweigh® 6”, “Masterweigh® 7” ,“Novus”, or our “Optimus” electronics for specialized applications.

Calibration Equipment

Web Tech AutoWeigh also design and manufacture a range of different styles of calibration facilities. As maintenance time on many sites is limited, a method of applying calibration weights quickly and simply is required. Our “In-Situ” weights are permanently installed above the weighframe and are simply wound down by a single person when required. Other designs to suit other manufacturers are also available, such as the “billet” style. Calibration chains are also available with electric winch and storage through facilities.

Weigh Idlers

For most applications, we recommend the use of in-line “weigh” quality idlers. These can be supplied by the idler manufacturers to our specifications, or manufactured by Web Tech AutoWeigh to suit the application. All idler rolls are fitted with adjustment facilities to allow for easy on-site adjustments.
