The model of conveyor belt scale required depends on the application requirements and the conveyor design. Our Belt Scale Installation Guide will provide guidelines on belt scale installation requirements.

Many belt scale applications also require a conveyor Metal Detector. Web Tech AutoWeigh can also supply these if required.

A belt scale system normally comprises of the following items:

• Weigh frame with load cells
• Electronic integrator/controller
• Speed sensor or digital encoder (tachometer)
• Weigh quality idlers
• Calibration equipment

 Process Conveyor Belt Scales

• Used in light to medium duty applications with belt loadings up to 50 kg/m
• Single idler weigh frame
• Mild steel galvanised construction, optional stainless steel
• Belt widths from 300 mm up to 1050 mm
• Conveyor belt scale kit offered complete with electronics, load cell and speed sensor
• Optional belt scale weigh frame only, to retro fit older conveyor belt scales
• Weigh quality idlers. Priced separately *
• Accuracies of ±0.25% to ±0.5% depending on the application and material type

Inventory Conveyor Belt Scales

Used where accuracies from “process” belt scales are not achievable on processes such as the monitoring of material deposited onto a stockpile and monitoring of material deposited into trucks.

• Dual idler mild steel galvanised construction, optional stainless steel
• Available as 1000, 1200 and 1500 mm standard idler spacings. Other spacings are available as an option
• Belt widths from 450 mm up to 1200 mm
• Conveyor belt scale kit offered complete with weigh frame, electronic integrator, load cells and speed sensor
• Optional belt scale weigh frame only, to retro fit older conveyor belt scales
• Weigh quality idlers are priced separately *
• Accuracies of ±0.5% to ±1% are typical depending on the application and material type

Precision Conveyor Belt Scales

Used in applications where very accurate results are required. These could include ship loading, train loading, wheat storage and custody transfer.

• Four, six and eight idler galvanised mild steel construction
• Optional stainless steel
• Previously supplied up to 10 000 MTPH
• Belt widths up to 2400 mm
• Standard models are available for 1000, 1200 and 1500 mm idler spacing. Other spacings are available as an option
• Conveyor belt scale kit offered complete with weigh frame, electronic integrator, load cells and speed sensor
• Optional belt scale weigh frame only, to retro fit older conveyor belt scales
• Weigh quality idlers are priced separately *
• Accuracies in the order of ±0.25% are typical depending on the application, material type and belt scale type

Electronic Integrator and Controller

Web Tech AutoWeigh also design and manufactures its own range of electronic integrators that can be used with all models of conveyor belt scales. Each of the models has different features, providing alternative solutions to the application requirements. We can retro fit any brand of belt scale or weightometer.

The standard models for most applications are our “Masterweigh 6”, “Masterweigh 7” and “Novus”. For specialised applications the “Optimus” controller is used.

Speed Sensors/Digital Encoders

Web Tech AutoWeigh provides a wide range of speed sensors/digital encoders to accommodate most situations in providing a pulsed output for all belt scale integrators. We can also retrofit any existing system with this equipment.

Our range includes:

• Web Tech stainless steel rotary shaft encoder or tachometer speed sensor
• Magnetic pick up sensor and bolt on sprocket
• Proximity Speed sensor with weld on target
• Precision self-cleaning spiral pulleys are available using our tachometer or proximity sensor
• Trailing arm sensor

Calibration Equipment

Web Tech AutoWeigh also design and manufacture a range of different styles of calibration facilities. As maintenance time on many sites is limited, a method of applying calibration weights quickly and simply is required. Web Tech can supply calibration weights for any belt scale regardless of the manufacturer.

• Standard calibration bars are normally stored below the weigh frame for easy access
• Our “In-Situ” weights are permanently installed above or below the weigh frame and are simply wound up and down by a single person when required
• Other designs to suit other manufacturer’s belt scales are also available, such as “billet” style calibration weights
• Calibration chains are also available with electric winch and storage trough facilities

Weigh Idlers

For most applications, we recommend the use of in-line weigh quality idlers. The idler manufacturer can supply these to your specifications. The weigh quality idlers can also be manufactured by Web Tech AutoWeigh to suit the application. All idler rolls are fitted with adjustment facilities to allow for easy on-site adjustments.
